Springtime is one of the most beautiful times of year to explore the charms of Santa Barbra. Citrus trees are blooming around every turn, and the shoreside town is aglow with visitors from all over the world.
This client wanted to bring their 70 wedding guests together in a special locale that would allow them to get know each other as two families became one. For the wedding day, Jesse worked with the bride to dream up an old-world Mediterranean, garden-inspired design. The bride loved flowering branches and vines, so Jesse and the floral designer sprinkled in her favorite blooms wherever possible. The couple also collected vintage bread bowls and other artifacts, so Jesse used these and other timeworn elements to connect the couple’s passion for old and new to the design. Springtime in Santa Barbra also calls for rain; the couple rolled with the punches, and the rain plan created a super intimate feeling and made the day even more cozy and special.

A make-your-own floral toss station was inspired by the Bride’s love of flowers. Each element in the floral buffet was selected to have meaning, a beautiful scent and color.
Always inspired by the bounty of local farmers markets, Jesse imagined an escort card display overflowing with the bounty of the season. Guests names were tucked into woven wooden baskets, and they then had a sweet treat and a peice of Santa Barbara to take home with them at the end of the night.
One of Jesse’s favorite traditions is the cake cutting. It is a fun, delicious way to head into a night full of dancing and merriment. This event was planned, design and produced by Jesse Tombs for Alison Events.
