What could be more inspiring than Frida Kahlo? After seeing her exhibit at the San Francisco MOMA in 2008, Jesse’s dream was always to create an event inspired by her work. Frida was ahead of her time as an artist, not only exploring Mexican folk art in a new and innovative way, but also exploring once-taboo cultural subjects such as class, gender and questioning one’s identity. Jesse wanted to embrace Kahlo’s passion for color, individuality and self expression to give the event space new life and infuse the evening with personality and joyfulness - truly a tribute to one of Jesse’s favorite artists of all time.
